The course is interactive and combines theory with practice, including case studies such as the identification of victims by Manchester Airport Border Guards following recognition of a tattoo on a victim. The course focuses on the full range of considerations relating to identification and assistance, such as what is human trafficking and how it differs from other phenomena such as migrant smuggling; Legal contexts and duties; Why victims may be found at transport hubs; Who are the victims and how to not fall into stereotypes; what things to look out for; and What to do if you come across a potential victim.
